A different view of wind in X-ray binaries: the accretion disc corona source 2S 0921-630

چکیده
Accretion disc coronae (ADC) sources are very high inclination neutron star or black hole binaries, where the outer accretion flow blocks a direct view of central source. The weak observed X-ray emission is instead produced mainly by scattering intrinsic radiation from highly ionised gas surrounding source, ADC. However, origin this material still under debate. We use ADC source 2S 0921-630 (V395 Car) to test whether it consistent with thermal-radiative wind illuminating and puffing up disc. This clearly visible in blueshifted absorption lines less inclined systems, seen directly through material. Using phenomenological photoionised plasma model, we first characterise parameter that drives 2S0921 XMM-Newton Chandra data. Following this, run Monte Carlo transfer simulation get scattered/reprocessed emissions wind, density velocity structure obtained previous work. Our model agrees all medium energy grating spectra for an luminosity L > 0.2 LEdd. result strongly favours winds as also show how high-resolution via microcalorimeters can provide definitive detecting lines.

Stellar wind accretion in high-mass X-ray binaries
Recent discoveries have confirmed the existence of a large population of Xray sources fuelled by accretion from the stellar wind of an OB supergiant. Such systems are powerful laboratories to study many aspects of astrophysics. Over the last decades, the physics of accretion in these systems has been the subject of extensive research, mainly through numerical methods. In spite of this effort, l...

متن کاملOn the Mass of the Neutron Star in V395 Car/2s 0921–630
We report high-resolution optical spectroscopy of the low-mass X-ray binary V395 Car/2S 0921–630 obtained with the MIKE echelle spectrograph on the Magellan-Clay telescope. Our spectra are obtained near superior conjunction of the mass donor star and we exploit the absorption lines originating from the backside of the K-type object to accurately derive its rotational velocity. Using K0-K1 III t...
متن کاملForty Years of X-Ray Binaries
In 2012 it was forty years ago that the discovery of the first X-ray binary Centaurus X-3 became known. That same year it was discovered that apart from the High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) there are also Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs), and that Cygnus X-1 is most probably a black hole. By 1975 also the new class of Be/X-ray binaries was discovered. After this it took 28 years before ESAs INTE...
متن کاملAccretion disc variability in the hard state of black hole X-ray binaries
XMM-Newton X-ray spectra of the hard state Black Hole X-Ray Binaries (BHXRBs) SWIFT J1753.5-0127 and GX 339-4 show evidence for accretion disc blackbody emission, in addition to hard power-laws. The soft and hard band Power-Spectral Densities (PSDs) of these sources demonstrate variability over a wide range of time-scales. However, on time-scales of tens of seconds, corresponding to the putativ...
